A SMART INSPECTOR
GIVES POLfCE A TIP WHICH HAS GOOD RESULTS (Per Press Association!. liawcra, April 24. To speed and erratic course of a motor lorry dashing .south through Eltham yesterday morning caused the Borough Inspector to telephone the I tavern police, with the result that the vehicle was stopped here half an Jiour later. Its, driver, Stanley Robertson, pleaded guilty before two Justices tis morning and was sentenced to 14 days in gaol on a charge of being drunk. He also pleaded guilty and was fined £1 on each of two charges of driving without a license and driving a vehicle without the current number plates. The police records disclosed that Robertson was wauled on an information laid in September, 1920.' alleging forgery in the name of Charles Harret to a loiter at Dunedin, thereby obtaining goods to the value of £0 19s. He was remanded to appear in Dunedin next Saturday on this charge.
