SOLDIERS’ ANZAC LUNCHEON
A RECOPD ATTENDANCE For the An/.ae luncheon following lhe service in St. John’s Church yesterday there was a. record crowd ol returned men—and the wives of those from, the country. A sumptuous ineii: was provided, as usual, by the committee of Eeilding ladies and their numerous assistants, whose hospitality and service were greatly appreciated. The tables were beautifully decorated. Captain Cameron occupied the chair.
The chief speaker was Col. Copeland, C.M.C., who highly commended such reunions.
On the motion of Major McLean, a. vote of thanks to the ladies was vociferously carried.
Replying, Airs Cameron said they hoped to get a larger hall next year, so that everybody connected with the reunion could lie* seated. Mrs A. H. Atkinson, a member of the ladies ’executive, in a letter 1 o the editor thanks the' Star for the help it had rendered in organising the luncheon.
