Captain Adamson arrived by the Aorangi from Australia with £OOO in iiis possession on a visit, to his four daughters at Portland, Oregon. He was furnished with British and American passports but had not an immigration visa. The United States authorities said he had relinquished his former American citizenship. Had lie not appealed he would have been deported to Australia lw the Aorangi.
