It is also reported'' that/ the Canton authorities are considering the demolishing of the monument erected in commemoration of the Shakec incident .and changing the name of „ street memorialising the incident on June 23, 1925/ involving bloodshed between the foreigners guarding tlie Shameen foreign quarter and the Whampoa Military Academy cadets led by Russians, numbers of cadets being killed-
In the meantime Sir Aliles Lninpso:-.. the British Minister at Peking, continues to spread goodwill.. In Shanghai he was feted by the leading Chinese organisations;
