Savidan, ol Auckland, the leading didance man, and J. Stauden and I). Gray, Australian champion cyclists, were notable competitors. In good times Stauden won the had' mile, oiic and. a. hall mile, and three miles lap A grade cycles with Gray second in the first two and Sarfc second in the lap race. Gray won the mile scratch. Stauden being second, and Scarfe and Morrist, jof VVplington. and Wake ley, of Wanganui, also being prolnifnent. t Savidan was bouton decisively m the sprint lionio in the mile flat by seven yards by R. McDonald, ol Palmerston North. McDonald bad a favourable mark. Earlier in the evening he won the hall mile. Palmerston North runners praciicady scooped the pool, the best Wanganui men being absent.
