THE WEATHER
CHRISTMAS MAT BE FIXE “Since Tuesday there Ims been a rise in pressure- over the Dominion,” announces the Meteorological Office in Wellington. “The rise has been greater in the- north than in the south, so that the conditions which prevailed during the past week have now definitely disappeared, in consequence more westerly and much less southerly winds have been experienced. while the temperatures are distinctly milder. The present fine weather should hold for another cla-y or two. ■ , 1 T “Reports from Australia indicate that- monsoonal conditions are strongly developed there and general rains have fallen in South Australia. It is therefore too*, early to; promise a continuance *of the -weather* for the Christmas holidays. There- is, however, no distinct activity in sight- at present.”
