Now that tire holiday meetings are near at hand it will be to the interest ol every sport to purchase one. The price, Oil, is within the reach of all.

Martarma will be an interesting oompe.titor at the Auckland meeting. The Martian colt bears an improved appearance, as a result of Ids recent racing and be requires only average luck to get some money, lie will peed to improve a. lot on anything lie has done to beat Agrioil mi the Derby, but he looks good lor a place in the classic race, whrle he should do well in sime of his other engagements.

A writer in the Hawke’s Bay Tribune says: The condition of Commendation, the four year old is, if anything, in a. worse wav. His hair, in patches, i.s coming out, als 0 his feet have caused trouble, the latter often being a reliable symptom of the administration of dope. It is now quite apparent that last year’s three year old champion will not raco again for some time. In fact, A is more than probable that it will be as a five year old that we shall next see him figuring as a starter. Doping should be a capital charge, or a “lifer” ml least.
