NOT AN EPIDEMIC CRIME.
THE SENTENCE ON KOWERDA, POLISH COntT EXPLAINS. Received. 12 noon.) Warsaw. June 10. Vhe tribunal, c xplaining young Kowerda's sentence for the murder of the Soviet Ambassador, states that a dentil sentence penalty is only proper when a crime threatens to- become epidemic. The Kowerda raises no such fears. Therefore, a life sentence was sufficient. But the extenuating circumstances of the youth’s high moral character and the fact that Kowerda may ultimately become a useful member of so-.miy renders a term of 15 years sufficient.
