FOUND HANGING.
A YOUNG MAN’S END. UNHAPPY OYER WIFE’S DEATH At about 10 o’clock yesterday morn.ing the body ot a young man named Hum ‘George Smitli, aged 22 years, was discovered hanging in an outhouse in Uiiahiiie street. Palmerston North. Deceased, who was employed in Palmerston North, is stated to have been quite normal yesterday and to have enthusiastically discussed with another gentleman a, feature of the work in which he was concerned. A pencilled note was found at the home of a local resident this morning conveying the intimation that deceased intended committing suicide because .nobody lined him now that he had lost his wife. Deceased desired to thank AD- Setter, with whom lie had lived, and .Messrs Row and Turner. He also desired te thank Air Collinson for kindnesses extended to him. When the note was discovered n search wo.s instituted, and the body was eventually found. Deceased lost his wife about seven weeks ago, and it is believed that his sad occurrence proved on his mind. A relative of the deceased resides in Hawera.
