The Feilding Star Orous and Kiwitea Counties' Gazette FRIDAY, FEBRUDSABY 18, 1927. THE PRICE OF WOOL.
Press and agents’ reports pf last night’s wool sale in Wellington make good reading. We learn that there was a 1 keen demand for all lasses n£ wool, pari icnlarly for lambs’ wool and fleeces. and the prices realised showed an improvement. Ordinary / crossbred wool showed no advance in
prices, but as the fleeces were, heavier than tho,se at the Jauu ary sales, the prices mu,sl; lie accepted as exceptionally good. The farmers have pot been haying, a rosy time lately, and some heartening news like, this will be very welcome. Wjt.li medium crossbred wool fetching over one shilling per pound and other lines at a comparative level. we must learn to lie satisfied. If only lamb and mutton prices would, improve a bit. we shquld breathe more freely.
