heavily repreens ted but the sale, after opening weakly, finned for practically all classes. Store sheep sold at advanced rates, particularly good ! classes of ewes. Fat lambs.—A small entry 1 of less than 2000, tli btuchers taking the bulk at up to 9d for 36’s and under, and 8d for 37-42’s. The schedule for .export for the week advanced firsts Iby a farthing and second grades by , a halfpenny per lb. I Store sheep.—A fairly large .entry, > including several' lines of Chatham | Island, orth Island anti West Coast [ewes, advanced in price by Is Od a (head. North Island two-tooths made from 26s to 28s 9d, four to eighttooth Chatham Island big-framed good-conditioned ewes, 30s |6d and ' one outstanding ewe, ’ a halLbred two-tooth, 32s 3d, Fat sheep. A small entry and a hardening sale throughout, values being up to 2s 6d a head better than last week! The entry with the exception of Chatham sheep was practically all local: Extra prime wethers to 32s Id; prime wethers 27s Cd to i 31s ; medium wethers, 25s to 275; light wethers, 23s to 24s 9d; extra prim© ewes to 27s Cd; prime ewes 22s 6d to 255; medium ewes 19s 6d to 225; light ewes ,17 ; s tp’., 19s; aged .ewes 15s to 16s 6d. j Eat cattle.—Another litfivy entry of 505 head. The market opened 25s ‘a head lower than last' week l for ordinary beef, but improved later especially for good beef which sold at practically last week’s prices.
