Talora, winner of tlie Auckland Trotting Cup, bred by, Afr R. Hard, ,of Dhaka, North Canterbury, is one of the most genuine performers ever raced in New. Zealand, and his latest most important victory,-.seems only a just reward for . the consistency he. has shown during his four years’ racing career. Talaro commenced racing as a thfce-ycar-old in 1923-24 season, and in six .starts gained two wins , and a second of .a total value of *£2sß 10s. In 1924-25 he started nine times, hut secured only one win, .worth £250, y In 1925-26 his really serious racing commenced, for he was started 29 times for four wins, seven seconds, five thirds, and two fourth places, for which he earned money, his total winnings amounting to £2710. During the; present 'season Talaro has started ten times, and the only occasion in which he has been out of the money was when lie fell in the last race of the August meeting at Addington.
