SLEEPS LIKE A BABE no Whiskers, no breakfast SOME INTIMATE NOTES By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright *' ' Aiixt and N.Z. Cable). ' (Received January 6, 10.30 a.m.) London, Jan. 5. “3fy mastery of body and Brain goes oil all day and all night. sleep is like a, babe’s. I believ e could sleep through .the. tumult, as T did in war time' bombardments when 15 minutes off duty.”
This is a- passage in- the first °f a series of intimate articles written by Premie r Mussolini for the British United Press Association.
Describing an average day, he says: “I can concentrate on one subject to the exclusion of others, and switch from one to another with same concentration. I rdtiro at midnight a<nd rise at 7 a.m., giving strict orders not to he awakened excepting for had news . This was Napoleon’s rule. I do not remain in bed a minute after rav first yawn. Lying in breeds stagr.'nition ajnd demoralises self-discip-line. I then shave, myself. I am an anti-whiskers man. Whiskers are a sign of decadence. When the decline of T?oman. glory began whiskers came 'into style. Fascism replaces them with a clean shaven youth, attired in riding breeches. My breakfast consists merely of a. glass of milk, taken without anything to eat and without company. It would be an honour ©ven for my own brother -to be invited to my table. It is then 7.30, and T am ready for my morning canter.” .
