V PARKING OF CARS. i" ; SOUTHERN INNOVATIONS. (Per Press Association) Christchurch; Jan. b. A new by-law, , which introduces angle parking for cars, is not being observed. The by-law orders that in all streets of a width of 40 feet or less, in which tramlines arc laid, cars, when parked,, must be placed parallel to the kerb on the left hand side of' the vehicle.- ' In streets without tramlines the ears must he i arked at an angle of not more than 40 degrees towards the kerb. The.chief city inspector wentground jester lav to see how the innovations was bciiig observed. “I was round myself and saw only one or two cars properly parked. U people won’t read flip papers t' by will have to take the consequences.” Another provision of tlie new bylaw that is likely to cause soma concern is .the prohibition of donbL*baliking on bicycles. It is safe to say that this new measure will errto inly not ho popular
