London. December 16. Sir Herbert Samuel, according .to the newspapers, lias decided to return to political life. After, holding, under Liberal Administrations, various Government offices, including those of PostmasterGeneral and Home -Secretary, he became in 1920 the first High Commissioner of the mandated territory' of Palestine. ' ' Since he retired from this office last year, Sir Herbert has been much in the public eye as chairman of the Coal Commission. It is understood that he will take the earliest opportunity” of contesting a Parliamentary seat in the Liberal interests.
