FATAL ACCIDENT.
, ni ' Si IN A QUARRY PRISONER KILLED ANOTHER. i ‘;' INJURED. (Per Press Association) Taumarunui. Nov. 22. Alr acident occurred this morning at a quarry near the Makotote viaduct, when, through a fall of earth aiuHrock, a prisoner, Arthur Hosier, was killed, and another prisoner. Ronald "Walter Neil.son, had a leg broken. The men wore carrying out drilling operations when the fall of earth came down from fifty feet up. Hosier was killed instantly. Nelson’s leg was struck; by a. rock and be suffered a double fracture. A warder, Raton, who was standing a. few feet away, escaped uninjured.
