SOLICITOR SUSPENDED

MATTER FOR APPEAL COURT (Per Press Association) Dunedin. Nov. 10. On Hie ground that Jlmn Gillies had been guilty of professional misconduct as a solicitor, an application was made to Mr»Justice Sim to-day that he show cause why lie should not be struck off the solicitors’ roll. Dir White, for Gillies said that the hitter had ben absent from Iris office ill for some month. Though on ■examination many' items would be credited to Gillies, there must be a considerable deficit, and Gillies was not opposing the motion. Mr 'Ciallan, for the Law Society, asked that the matter lie reserved for the Appeal Court, and Gillies in the meantime he suspended from practice. His Honour took this course.
