It is offiieally announced that the president of the Barcelona bar, recently appointed by the Government to that post, called to see the Prim© Minister and Minister 5 of Justice, and informed them that lie declined to accept the _appointment no account of his political connections. He was told th e appointment was compulsory, and the Barcelona bar must obey orders. Tho official announcement adds that the Government is determined to issue a decree that all refusing to love Spain will lose their .rights of citizenship, all rights to follow, a profession, and have thei r property confiscated.
