POLO TOURNAMENT
SAVILE CUP SEMI-FINAL. Unpleasant weather conditions prevailed yesterday for the polo tournament continued oil the local polo grounds, a raging wind interfering with the three games played. In the morning the first match of the handicap cup series was played between Homewood A and Wairarapn, and the score gave an indication of the accurate handicapping. The former team, with 10 goals on, conceded the YVairarapa representatives four goals, and at the end ol the seventh spell the score stood at 14* all. An extra spell was played, Homewood scoring ‘from a penalty hit after a long tussle in front )i their opponents’ .goal. Mr M. it. Murphy was the referee. The Savile Cup semi-final matches were played in the afternoon. Hawke’s Bay A defeating Feilding A 13—1, and Christchurch defeating Pa re wan m hy a close score of 5 goals to 3. In the first-named match Hawke’s Bay A hit Hi heliimls against 4 registered bv Feilding. Christchurch hit 13 heliimls in their match with Parewanni who registered 8. Col. Xeilson and Mr 0. Nelson were the umpires.
