The demands of tlie Canterbury freezing work,sens for increased pay at the opening of the season were refused. Work is proceeding. SUPPORT FROM MASTERTON Masferton, Jail. 6. A stop-work meeting of workers engaged at the Waingawa freezing works was held yesterday. Mr A. McLeod, secretary of the Wellington Freezing Workers’ Union, and Air R. Semple were present. After a two hours’ discussion, the following resolution was carried : “That this stop work - meeting of Mas ter Lou freezing workers wholeheartedly , supports the Canterbury demands for increased rates, believing them to ljh reasonable and just, and further pledges itself to take whatever action L deemed advisable in support of them.” It- was further'-'agreed by resolution that no men should go south until the dispute was settled.
