Baron Dickson, of Sweden, has reached Australia, eh route for New Zealand. Mr John Murphy, an old and respected identity of Timaru for over 50 years, died on his 82rid birthday, Christmas Day. The Governor-General will pay another visit to Dunedin from. Tuesday, January 19, to Monday, February--22, in connection with the Exhibition and the Boy Scouts Jamboree. At the end of this month Superintendent Hemlrey, at present stationed in Auckland, will retire from the New Zealand police force, having completed 40 years’ service. Of this period he has spent 23 years in Auckland.
