Race traffic at the time was very heavy • along Aorangi street, a»d ataxi from Dannevirke, driven by Air Carmichael, in avoiding a helul-ou collision with a ear going towards the bridge swerved to the wrong side of the road and in doing so collided with two ears which had just crossed the railway line. Fortunately, no olio was injured, but the ears were badly knocked 1 about. A ear owned liy Air 11. T. Rim, of Aorangi, suffered a damaged 1 wheel and tyre and a smashed mudguard, while the second ear, owned h v Mr T. Hugh es, of Kirnholton road, Feilding, sustained a buckled mudguard. The taxi was also damaged.
