THE “GALILEE SKULL.”
EXAMINED BY AN EXPERT. Loudon, Oct. 22. Sir Arthur Keith, lecturing before the Royal Anthropological Institute on the “Galilee Skull” found by Mr E. Turville-Petre in a Palestine cave, said that he had come to the conclusion that the skull was that of a. young woman. Two marks on the (op of. the skull showed superficial trephining such as was practised among primitive races in. the South Sen Islands, lie knew of no Form of laceration in disease which would have made these marks on the surface of the skull. There was a prima, facie case for believing that if was superficial trephining. This species of mankind was more closely related Lo the apes than wq were.
