Shipping troubles find their efleet upon the primary industries ol this country were mentioned at the Chamber ol' Commerce Committee meeting last night, when Mr P. lb Desmond mentioned that tlm stoppage in the export of produce would seriously affect the dairy farmers. It would probably be found that the banks would restrict payments for butter, and this of course would affect the general business community. Mr Desmond admitted that he could not suggest how the Chamber ol Commerce could help to clear the industrial atmosphere, but bethought a. strongly worded resolution might be adopted. Mr R. Cobbe emphasised the serious situation developing for the dairy farmers through the shipping hold up. "Members of the Chamber. however, thought they could serve no good purpose at present by way of resolution, and the matter dropped.
