KIMBOLTON

BOYS AT FOOTBALL. (From Our Own Correspondent). The primary schools football competition was advanced a further stage on Saturday last when the local hoys met the combined Chel-tonhnm-Kiwitea team at Cheltenham and defeated them by 8 to nil. 'Fries were scored for the winners by George Smith and George Knox, the latter try being converted by Stanley Waugh. ATr AT. Desmond was the referee and gave every satisfaction. The hoys and visitors were afterwards entertained at afternoon fen bv the Cheltenham Indies.

At a meeting of the TCimbolton Senior Football Club on Saturday night, presided over by the President. R. Richardson, it, was decided to hold the annual football ball towards the end of next month. The following ball committee was sot up In make all arrangements —ATessrs D. Bryce, C, Bartlett, AY. Goodin, T. Parsons, G. Shanlev, S Alillev, A. Thompson. R. Cribb and Tv. Simple,ski, with D. Bryce, secretary, and T. Parsons, assistant esoretnry. ftwas decided that complimentary tickets he sent to the president and secretary of the Afannwatu Rugby Union and to the captain and the secretary of neighbouring clubs.

SCHOOL CONCERT POSTPONED. The committee lias found it necessary to postpone the concert in aid of the school funds which was to have been hold on Friday night, to the next Friday night, n week later.

Several members of .the local Indies’ hockey club foregathered at All’s Vernon Jones’s one day last week for the purpose of entertaining and making a present to one oi their members who is about to get married. .This .is Afiss Eileen Stackhouse, the charming and popular daughter of one ol Tvimbolton’s pioneer residents, who is, on A.Tondav next, to he married to Mr Douglas AloXae, the well known local footballer, and son of Air ‘‘Tiny” AlcNne, of Aoiti. Aliss Aluriel Russell, on behalf of her fellow girl players, presented the brideelect with a lovely flower howl an I a ease of silver afternoon teaspoons, wishing her wealth, health, and prosperity. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostess, Mrs Jones. ■
