The cause of the outbreak is a mystery as the foreman had just completed his -final rounds shortly after ft o'clock and had locked tip. when flames leaped from the far corner of th<> building. The foreman „ declares that everything there was in order when he passed only a lew minutes earlier. The. fire advanced so rapidly that the firemen who were summoned from- all the -Metropolitan stations wore practically powerless, and eonlined their efforts to slopping the /Inm Os from spreading to the administrative block
