An explosion occurred in Rothbury collicry. near Cesnuek, ~ early this' morning .Tlrero were only two men ia the mine at tho time—Booth Symington (pumper) and William Crisp (do- : pnly), Symington was .rescued, tincdnscious, but exhaustive search failed to reveal a trace of Crisp. The' explosion. wa s so severe that it blew out one of the stoppings, demolishing sixty feet of brick wall. A gang of proto-men searched all morning for the entombed man bub the air was so bad they were compelled to leave the mine, which will be sealed. There is little hope of now finding Crisp alive. So far. there are no signs of fire. 'Die explosion occurred eight hundred yards from the mouth of the tunnel.
