Most ,municipal 'corporaLions' provide ii- special by-law allowing perishable goods to be sold in the streets without y. license, but no such provision is included in the Hamilton bylaws, as a result ol‘ which William Fcrgusxou was charged in th e Hamil* ton Magistrate's Court with carrying on business as a hawker without k license. Constable Warneford said that defendant, who came from Auckland, was selling fish out of boxes on the ramp at Frank ton Junction. He claimed that under the Auctioneering Act he was entitled to do this without a license. He was fined 10s, and costs 7s.
