SAD HOLIDAY OUTING

(Per Proas AsfmomtioTJ). Wellington, Oct. 3. Frederick Mills, a member of the firm of J. R. Mills unci Co., of Invercargill, was drowned in the Hutt river last evening. He and a friend, Mr Smith, arrived hero yesterday on their way to Sydney for a holiday. They went for a ear drive into the country. The ear was stopped on the road near a high part of the river bank to allow MiMills to get out and go down the hank which was steep and dangerous. Those in the car heard a fall and splash, the presumed he had tripped over the remains of a wire fence. Mr Smith tried to got down, but was unable. He saw the body floating down the stream, and when recovered Mr Mills was dead. At 'the inquest a verdict of accidentally drowned was "returned.
