Salisbury, aud while there proved a line all-round young athlete. lie was captain of the' Rugby first filcaptain of the games, prefect., champion swimmer aud'first class in boxing. When he entered - the stables ho had two horses to attend to and ride. Tie found that although Sturdee is 12 years old. the son of Advance had started in only 21 races. He was out once and unplaced as a two year old, and was then put by until his sixth year, when he ran six times for two thirds. Three firsts and two seconds were his lot at seven years, at eight two firsts and once unplaced, at inn;- one first and twice unplaced, at 10 he was an absentee from the racecourse, at II one first, oik; third, and 1.2 unplaced were his lot,, while this year he carried off the Grand 'Nitional and was unplaced last Saturday.
