£IO,OOO BURNED FOR SPITE

New York, June 17

(Nicola Pellegrini, a clerk in the Italo-Ameriean Bank of Genoa, has been sentenced to eight years' imprisonment and fined £SOO, for burning £IO,OOO in notes belonging to the bank.

Pellegrini considered that he and his colleagues had been badly treated by the bank, and destroyed the notes in a Jit of spite.
