The State Parliament opened. Mr Bowser was re-elected Speaker unopposed. The Governor, in his speech said that until the complex position created',at the elections wag cleared up he considered it unnecessary to present a programme- of legislation iu detail.

ANOTHER CENSU.UE MOTION In the Assembly, Mr McGirr moved a further censure motion, covering a great variety of subjects, including condemnation of the Government for its attitude in connection with the basic wage. State subsidies to denominational schools and orphanages, wheat guarantee, and the capital levy.
