LABOUR CONFERENCE
HOURS OF WORK DISCUSSED (By Electric v Oacle.—fJnnyright). (Außfc. and N.Z. uanie Association). Geneva, July 6. The International Labour Conference adopted the first reading of the draft of an international convention on a, weekly 24 hours' stoppage of worlc in glaas factories. The British Government and the workers', delegates voted in favour, while the employers voted against. Two reports, a majority arid a minority, were submitted on the' question of night work in bakeries. The employers' delegates voted against an international convention and a. sixhour break at ight time, while the workers' delegates held out for the convention and seven-hour break at night-time.
