The Kiwitea Rabbit Hoard decided on Saturday that the salary of the chic!' inspector commence at £350 per annum and that an annual increment of !J2."> be paid until the salary reaches £4OO.
At the Pohangina County Council meeting- on Saturday, a letter was received, from the Palmerston Hospital Board asking for a suggestion as to the best means of raising £OOOO for additions to the nursing home. The Council decided to recommend a levy on the local bodies tor two years.
Anniversary services of the Methodist Sunday school were held, ill Wesley church yesterday, when there were crowded congregations at each of the three services! The musical part, for which the children and choir had been specially trained by Mr A. K. Shclton, was greatly appreciated. On Wednesday evening, in the Parish Hall, the anniversary festival will be continued, when tlio gifts sale is to take place, beginning at 7 o'clock, followed by a juvenile programme. The school prizes will be presented by Mr J. G. Cobbe.
