Miss Ryan commenced in rej markable fashion, and controlled her chopped drives finely, being . helped by the fact that Miss McKane was unusually erratic and her service poor. Miss McKane greatly improved in the second set, when Miss Ryan seemed nervous. The third set mas a ding-dong battle.
