Lady Louise Alexandra Marie Irene Mountbatten, ltoyal Red Cross, wlio has just been betrothed to the Crown Prince of Sweden, who was born in 1889, is the second daughter of the late Marquess of Milford Haven (who was known until 1917 as Prince Louis of Battenberg. Lady Louise is a gieat-grandaughter, on her mother’s side, of Quean Victoria. Her elder sister married in 1903 Prince Andrew of Greece. Her elder brother, born in 1892, tho present Marquess of Milford Haven (who as Prince George of Battenberg served in H.M.S. New Zealand from her commissioning in 1912 till after the Battle of Jutland), married in 1913 the Countess Nadejda, daughter of the Grand Duke Michael of Russia. Her younger brother, Lord Louis Mountbatten, who visited New Zealand with the Prince of Wales, married last year Miss Edwina Ashley, a niece of the late Sir Ernest Cassel. The Crown Prince of Sweden, Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Skane, is a widower, and 41 years of age. He married in 1905 Princess Margaret Victoria of Connaught, who died in 1920, leaving four sons and one daughter.
