MONTHLY MEETING. ' At the usual monthly meeting of tho Wanganui Board of Education there were present: Messrs Collins (chairman). Eraser, Bruce, Joblin, Birnie, Pilkington, Mclntyre and Hemmingway. The question of preparation ot plans for a school at Marton Junction was referred to the architect. The> Education Department advised tho making of. a further grant or £ll9B 10s 6d towards the cost of the new school at Foxton. It was decided to carry out repairs and alterations at Upokongaro and Longburn, to subsidise pound tor pound cost of metalling at Palmerston Central, to refer questions ot asphalting paths, etc., at Central Infants to the architect. The Wanganui district branch ot the N.Z.E.I, wrote recommending that tire Board should support a -proposal advocating the issue of free school season tickets for use of pupils travelling on the train to school. A system similar to the block tickets for sports teams, etc., should be adopted. The- letter was referred to the Board of Managers for the Technical School.
