A HAWKE’S BAY SCHEME. (Per Press Association.) Hastings, May 17. The -formal opening of the Havelock North Hydro-electric power scheme of 250 li.p., from the Maraetotara stream, for local supplies, took .place this afternoon in the presence of representatives form Napier, Hastings, Waipukurau and Hawke’s Bay local bodies. Several speakers stressed on the delay of the Government regarding pushiong on Waikaremonna, and urged pressure on the Government, or bodies to follow the lend of the Havelock North, and take the mn-ter into their own hands.
