IRISH OLYMPIC GAMES.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, May 13. Particulars of the proposed I'. ish Olympic games in Dublin .next August have reached Mr M. J. Sheahan in a letter from Mr J. J. Welch, director of the Tailtean games: "It should bo clearly understood," states Mr Welch "that the games of Gael have always been kept aloof from political conflict. Prominent men of all views are working together to ensure the success of this great Irish r: li'etic event. It is the earnest oesiie of all that this common plall\).-i'i on which all Irishmen may meet should continue to be non-politcal. The promotoi-suggest the formation f.f coiniiiitt in each country to frocuve capital tj send competitors to Ireland. The promoters cannot defray any travelling or other expenses but transiport. A sub-committee- is engaged in obtaining concessions from shipping companies and railways. Competitions are open to all amateurs born in Ireland or one of whose parents are born in Ireland, or two of whose grandparents on one side were born thera."
