AN UNUSUAL DESIRE. (Pei 1 Press Association.) Auckland, April 26. It is not often that, a person who has been confined within the walls of an asylum for the insane desire to return there. Such, however, was the case of Eric Erickson, a burly mid-dle-aged Swede, who was charged with drunkenness at the. Police Court this morning. . It was stated that Erickson got drunk and gained admission to the grounds of the Mental Hospital at Avondale, where he had formerly been a patient, and it was only with the greatest difficulty that lie had been ejected. Then he was arrested outside the walls. As the result of his spree, however, the Scandinavian had to undergo a week’s medical treatment, but Dr. Murray. supplied a certificate to the Court this morning which stated that the mail was now perfectly well. Ericckson was convicted and ordered to pay £1 12g 6d, medical expenses.
