FITZROY TENNIS CLUB.

ANNUAL BALL LAST NIGHT. Tho annual ball of the above club was held last night in the Parish Hall, at which there was a good attendance. The hall was prettily decorated with row upon row of. streamers, over 4500 feet being used. Across the stage was stretched a tennis net, bearing the words “Fitzroy Tennis Club.” It is said music makes tho dance, and there it no doubt the splendid music of Smith’s Jazz Band (Palmerston North) went a long way to make the dance the great success it was. The “jazz man” excelled himself. A tasteful supper was supplied by the ladies of the club, and their labours were rewarded by the general approval given of the supper. Altogether, the ball was a success, and tho committee deserve to be congratulated. Messrs V. Lawrence, L. Giesen, V. AVallis, V. Sutton, and G. Thorn capably carried out tlic duties of M.’sO. _
