AVIATION ACHIEVEMENT. IMPRESSES THE ARABS. (By Electric Cable —Copyright.) (Aust. aud N.Z. Cablo Association.) (Received Mar. 27, 11 a.m.) Loudon, Mar. 26. The Air Ministry announces that Sir Percy Cox, High Commissioner for Irak (Mesopotamia), accompanied by his staif, carried out the first aerial inspection of a part of the country lying along tlie Euphrates. The flight, of 300 miles, was accompanied in a day. The party was carried in three Vickers-. Voiron troop-carrying aeroplanes, each capable of carrying a load of nearly two tons and accommodating 12 persons, with full military equipment, in addition to pilots, water, and food supplies. The party was escorted by 12 aeroplanes. and tlie visit greatly impressed the tribes. Mr A’crron imagines that these aircraft arc destined to play an important part in the garrisoning of Irak, when it comes entirely under the Air Force control.
