CHILD DIES FROM BURNS. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, March 13. Marie Heffjren, aged four, daughter of Mick Hefferen. died in the hospital to-night as the result of burns. She was playing at her home about 3 p.m. with a little buy, who struck a match, igniting her clothes. A CASE OF SUICIDE. Auckland, March 13. William Henry Hawken, a fanner at Manurewa, was found dead outside his wharc with his head practically blown off. Deceased was aged 29, and was an ex-soldier. He lived alone. At the inquest a verdict of suicide was returned.
