Heathcote Williams, president of the New Zealand Cricket Association, Mr Swan, chairman of the Essex County Cricket Club, and members of the executive of tho New Zealand Cricket Council, matters in connection with the tour of MacLaren’s team were discussed. It was stated that MacLaren was bringing out the team at his own financial risk, and it . was pointed out that he desired to play one match in Australia coming out and eight going backhand this being so, the sanction of the M.C.C. would rtavc to bo-obtainod for tho proposed tour. It was resolved to cable the M.C.C. asking if it had given its sanction to the tour.
