LITTLE GIRL’S DEATH,

STRUCK WHILE PLAYING

A little girl, Alma Hawkey, 9 years of age, whose parents reside at G 9, Summer street, Ponsonby, succumbed to internal injuries as the result of an accident, at the Auckland Hospital yesterday afternoon. The child was playing in a hou -e in course of erection at 54 Summer Street, last evening, when she slipped, bringing down with her some of the building material, which struck her on the abdomen. Dr. AV. H. Pettit was called in, and the girl was removed to the hospital. Although conscious at the time of admission, her condition did not improve, and she died at 1 o’clock this afternoon.
