HOT TIME IN ITALY. PEASANTS CAUSE RIOT. Loudon, August 10 The correspondent o; the Times at Milan states that a strange story of • pirit influence conies from the south if Italy, where a serious riot broke nit around a country house .supposed o be invaded by spirits. Ulva. a wealthy man. complained to a priest that life was no longer !>ossible in his own house on account •I the crowd of spirits upsetting the •itchen, dining room, and bedrooms. The priest, visited the house and saw i picture, which started to dance. A ■latiie fell down, and the fragments dso danced. 'l'he priest then urged Ulva to proride for the baptism of twins, which '•ad been newly born. The function vas held, but there was no cessation if the spirits' aetiviries. A mob of curious peasants outside '•iiiio into conflict when arguing as to vhetlier the manifestations were i>osable or not. The troops of the Royal "hiards rushed to the spot and quelled .he light, whereupon the spirits ceas•d to function.
