Deliveries, 2393 tons. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The Department uf Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated the 3rd inst.. from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London; Meat.-—Mutton market continues weak, specially for heavyweight. Lamb market slow, with weaker tendency. More Homo killed and Dutch, and better variety of meat available. Beef in better demand, and tendency upwards. Argentine chilled supplies scarce. N.Z. mutton, lightweight BJd, heavyweight GJd- Lamb, best lightweight Is Id, mediumweight Is Old, heavyweight 11 id ; 2nd class quality Id to "id lower. N.Z. beef, prime ox, hinds Gd, fores 4jd. Butter.—Market this week extremely quiet, and prices irregular. Home market weaker, with very little inquiry. Irish, salted, 235 s per cwt, 2s Ud'per lb. Danish, 2-l-ls to 250 s per cwt, 2s 2d to 2s 2jd per lb- New Zealand, Ist- and 2nd grade. 244 s to 216 s per cwl, 2s 2id to 2s 2}d per lb. Government, ex store price: New Zealand, Ist and 2nd grade. 242 s per cwt, 2s ljd per lb. Cheese.—Demand limited, but price remains firm. Finest farm rs' 160 s to, 168 s per cwt. Is oid to Is Gd per lb. New Zealaud, prices lower in sympathy; white 118 s to 122 s per cwt. Is to Is'ld per lb; coloured, Ills to 120 s ' per cwt. Is OJd to Is IHd per lb. Wool.—Sales continue, with brisk demand and competition animated. Prices have advanced 5 per cent, since the opening for merinos and fine crossbreds. New Zealand crossbreds ar« meeting with good demand from Home trade. Keen bidding for slipo.
