Marton, November 30. At a representative meeting held hero the following resolution was carried unanimously: "That the Marton, branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants of New Zealand indignantly and emphatically protest and whole-heartedly condemn the action of the department in • contravening,- both in the spirit and the letter, the terms of clause 23 of the agreement arrived at between the executive council and and the department on June 23. \Ve furthermore call'upon the executive council to take the, necessary action immediately to have all the terms of the agreement adhered to and liberally interpreted, which, though promised, has not been carried out."
