John Russell, a shunter, aged 29, was run over by some trucks while shunting in the railway yards last evening, sustaining injuries to which he suscumbed in the hospital 4 few hours later. YOUNG GIRL DROWNED. Christchurch, November 20. At the inquest' on Vera A'Court, aged 18, an employee of the Kaiapoi factory whose body was found in the Avon river near New Brighton yesterday, the father said she had left homo on Tuesday, since when he had rot seen her alive. Hβ did not know why she left home, but she had gone away on two previous occasions. A verdict was returned of doajth -by drowning, but there was no evidence jo show whether the drowning was intentional or accidental. DEATH BY HANGING. Hamilton, November 20. Thomas Hill, a married man, aged 50 years, witji two children, committed suicide by hanginff himself in a washhouse at the rear of Ms father s residence this morning.
