TAXI-CAB MURDER.

1 The driver of a Paris taxi-cab was: . found dead at the wheel in a deserted part of the Rue Mirabeau, the engine ■ still going—such was the discovery oft a lamplighter at half-past four in the morning. The man had been? shot through the head and the cab had*; been standing for hours, as an incident: ' on the Quai de Passy after one o'clock; . the same morning showed. Two police-, men, attracted by the strange de**. ; meanour of a man, arrested him, and ' found that his clothes and hands were;, • covered with blood. A five-chambered revolver, with one cartridge discharged, ; three 20fr notes stained with blood, and i ! a packet of cigarettes were found upon ! , hini. The arrest and discovery of the dead taxi-cabman explained everything^ and the man promptly confessed to the; crime he had committed.
